Greetings from a windy and cold St. Louis, MO
Overnight the wind picked up and the temps dropped into the lower 20′s. I could hear the ham radio antenna getting whipped around by some sudden wind gusts. Getting up this morning was not much of a treat because the tile floor was extra cold on my toes. I like it to be cool when I sleep so we have been keeping both space heaters in the living room/kitchen area. We did not get any snow overnight – which is good….
Lunch today - BBQ turkey on crust with carrots and grapes. That was a lot of carrots to eat.. filled me right up....
Had a really good day on the Seattle Sutton meal plan – all three meals filled me up. I’m sure part of that is due to my stomach shrinking because of the smaller portions. Breakfast was granola pumpkin flax cereal with pineapple spears, lunch was BBQ on Texas Crust with carrots and grapes and supper was roasted vegetable wrap with potato casserole and nut clusters. I actually enjoyed the meals… John is still having a tough time – he says the food is not very flavorful and he is still hungry after eating his portions, but he is sticking with it….
Another part of the meal plan I like is that each meal has the nutritional information printed on the labels – so I know exactly how many calories to record in the Lose It! iPhone application. This is how Lose It! shows my calorie intake for today:

Here’s the the Velveeta update – John will not let me throw it away – he says that it is still good and is too expensive to just toss. We actually consumed lots of Velveeta about 8 years ago when we did the low-carb South Beach diet – for some reason we decided cauliflower covered in Velveeta was a good low carb food…
We had a Certificate of Deposit (CD) come due today… It is amazing how crappy the new CD rates are… many rates under 12 months are less then 1% .. Really depressing….
American Idol just came on TV… I really like Ellen, but it seems really odd to see her at the judges table and she is sitting where Randy usually does… I do miss Paula – her crazy made me giggle…
Was able to watch Ru Paul’s drag race last night… I think it was the very best show out of season 1 and season 2 combined – all the campy game show references where so funny… “Heel or no Heel” and “The Snatch Game”. I’m still laughing about it… Having one of the receivers turned off is not limiting the channels we get, but does limit the number of shows that can be recorded at one time… John groans when RuPaul preempts the shows he likes (Housee and anything with cute dark haired twinks with long fingers
