Greetings form another hot day in Texas… right now at 6:00pm it is 96 ° outside and it is 86 ° inside the moho… right now we are getting the full brunt of the setting sun… the interior temps will drop in the next few hours as the sun gets lower in the sky…

looks like a laundry mat that could be in Sordid Lives....

Got laundry done this morning – I went back to the crappy laundry room because it has more room and a place to hang laundry once I put it on hangers

The laundry room did not disappoint with all if it’s tackiness… I opened up a dryer and a dried beetle shell fell out – I decided to use a different one…

Beetle shell that fell out of the dryer... yuck...

The outdated sign of the week in the laundry room....

and of course there was another outdated sign hanging up… this time the sign explained that the water heaters would not be working until Aug. 6th.. probably… maybe…. today is Aug. 16th…

In the summer I don’t think we are really out of hot water when the water heater stops working… the tap water is usually tepid to warm to begin with….

This morning John purchased some degreaser from Walmart and cleaned out the hydraulic fluid from the propane bay that has been leaking in. It was not a fun job because the morning sun was beating down on that side of the moho already… he thinks that the leak might not be as bad as he first thought. He thinks that perhaps the Texas heat is weakening the seals and causing the leaking…. It is something that we will have to monitor and eventually fix. When John moves the MoHo to new site on Wednesday he will see how much extra leakage he gets….

We found a new grocery store that we checked out after breakfast yesterday (Saturday). It is called Sprouts Farmers Market and is kinda sorta like a Whole Foods, just not as fancy. Their meat department was not very large, but what they had looked good and was not too expensive – so we picked up two thick New York strip steaks. John asked me what vegetables would also be good on the grill… he does not like corn on the cob, tomato, green peppers, summer squash or zucchini, so I came up with Belgian Endive. Also got some fresh cherries (good for keeping my gout away), smoked tomato salad dressing, bagels and a few other things. John liked the store and will probably go back. He was unhappy with me because I hurried him too much and he was not able to browse the store as long as he wanted…. I think he is spoiled by shopping by himself during the week ;)

So today we grilled the steaks on the grill along with the endive and baked potatoes. They were good, nice and tender, but did not have much flavor to them… next time we should marinate them overnight…. The endive turned out good.. not sure John liked it, but I did…

The park’s wifi internet that we pay $30.00 a month for through Tengo Internet is not working this afternoon. John called Tengo and and was told that they know about the problem and it has been “escalated” – my guess is that is will suddenly start to work at 8:00am tomorrow morning when the RV parks office opens and someone turns off and back on the main router…. I’m able to share the internet connection from my Mac, but I can’t share connection while connected in working on side project so John could not surf the web while I’m programming… not a good thing… Tengo’s internet service is not very good.. it is decent during the weekday from 9 am to 4 pm, but when people get home from work or on weekends, usage is up and it slows way down… John is going to contact AT&T to see if we can get DSL service at our new site…
