Work has been going well. Today I moved my first batch of programming changes into QA for the Business Analyst to test. I’ve been learning how to use this clients promotion tool to move things onto the QA server – that part has been a challenge, but I’m getting the hang of it… John picked me up at 4:30pm and went to a 360 Degree Gourmet Burrito place in Livermore, CA for supper. I had a chicken burrito and John had a lamb burrito. I had a chicken burrito with lots of fresh veggies – it was tasty. John did not care for his burrito as much – it fell apart and was a mess to eat…. oh well….
The weather was really nice out (lower 80′s) so I sat outside, listened to some 8-tracks, drink a few beers, and read a book. We still have some Leinenkugels Berry Weiss left from when we were in Wisconsin. I feel obligated to drink it because beer is heavy and it will help with our fuel economy to consume it.
I’m reading another book in The Cat Who.. series…. “The Cat Who Turned on and Off” by Lillian Jackson Braun. There’s 29 books in the series and I plan on reading them all in order. So far, I’m on book three…. They are basically murder mysteries that get solved with the help of two cats, KoKo and Yum Yum… the are easy reads, but fun….
Our telephone line was turned on today. John has it connected to the RV using the wiring that is built into the motor home. We also received the DSL modem kit in the mail today and have it hooked up, but the DSL service has not been turned on yet… So perhaps it will get turned on a bit early, like the phone line…. The DSL modem has a wireless router built into it – so it should be easy to connect both laptops and our wifi-enabled printer to it.
We don’t have anything exciting planned for tomorrow since we are going to San Francisco on Sunday for the Alcatraz and Angel Island tour. One thing I want to do tomorrow is to buy some avocado’s and make guacamole dip – something I’ve never done before. John does not like guacamole so I will have to eat it by myself…. if anyone has any good guacamole recipes, feel free to send them my way… email address is on top of the right hand column of the blog.
I also want to give a shout out to our Florida friends. Hope they are staying dry while Fay is making a wet mess…. My consulting company has it’s corporate headquarters in Tampa, FL – so they had a rough few days getting payroll processed while the storm passed through… I also hope that Frank and Dave have weathered the storm…
I’m off to continue reading and eventually fall asleep
