I made it back to work today after being off for 5 days. It was not a good day because the server we use to test the converted forms was not working. I was only able to get so far on each form because of this.
I broke my eye glasses last weekend- John was able to fix my current glasses with some of Scott’s super glue but I’m not sure how long they will continue to stay together. Tomorrow I have an appointment at Sears Optical tomorrow for an eye exam and to select some new glasses. I hate the glaucoma test where they blow a puff of air onto your eye balls… yuck!!!
I received a new toy in the mail today – a new retro computer!!! I purchased an Epson PX-8 that is new in the box – never been used. This computer is commonly referred to as the first commercially viable notebook computer. It was first available in 1984. It has a Z-80 microprocessor that runs CP/M-80 as it’s operating system. It does not have a disk drive or hard drive. It has RAM memory and a micro-cassette tape drive. It will be interesting to see what I can do with it…
John’s not happy that I purchased it, but if he gets too huffy with me I will just pull out the receipt for the helicopter he had and the ham radio he purchased. I explained him that I can’t go to the Vintage Computer Festival at Purdue University in a few weeks without a vintage computer
Went geocaching after I got the supper dishes cleaned and put away. I found one cache I have been having a tough time finding – finally! I then went to find another cache that I could not find. I hope to go out again tomorrow night after work….. I’m now up to 61 caches found.
I checked the stats for June and I had 10,950 visitors – an all time high. August 2nd will mark the 1 year anniversary of this blog. It will be fun to be able to look back and see what I did a year ago…..
